Working with a variety of media, I am interested in the distortion of and experimentation with household and home-related images and objects. Interested in time, impermanence, and absence, I search to uncover and reveal a multitude of truths, or rather non-truths, that surround past experiences of home. Through my work, I question the reliability of emotion and human recollection. How might the way our minds portray experiences of the past differ from how they actually existed? Do the objects, fixtures, and spaces we once knew shift, distort, and change based on or current individual attachment or disassociation? The works all end with remnants; residual detritus of persons in spaces once called home.

[/et_pb_text][et_pb_portfolio _builder_version=”3.17.6″ posts_number=”40″ include_categories=”56″ zoom_icon_color=”#2ea3f2″ hover_overlay_color=”rgba(255,255,255,0.9)” fullwidth=”off” /][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]

Hamilton Street Gallery Exhibition“Traces” – January 26th to March 7th 2019Taryn PizzaArtist’s StatementResting in a space between fiction and reality, the work I create, alter, or deconstruct, narrates place.
