\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>For this exhibition, Hamilton Street Gallery has collaborated with Christy E. O\u2019Connor, artist and director of Art Hustle, as guest curator for a deeply prevalent topic that has affected all of us. We are honored and thrilled to work with her.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>\u201cFrom religious fanaticism, to celebrity and hero worship, to personal relationships, what will some do to prove their faith and belief system to an individual or a cause?\u00a0 What drives one’s devotion to the point of violence?\u00a0 Is it love? A need for power?\u00a0 Fear? Anger? Hatred? Manipulation? Violent Devotion seeks to uncover what drives one to extreme acts to prove their love or devotion to a person or a cause?\u00a0 Who has influenced acts of extremism?\u00a0 What institutions have nourished and cultivated these excessive belief systems, and why? How many acts of violence have been committed in the name of love or hate?\u201d Christy E. O\u2019Connor<\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Twenty five artists were chosen for this exhibit.
