Artist Statement:
\nHaving spent my childhood years in Long Hill Township on the edge of The Great Swamp, this theme excites me. My friends and siblings spent a lot free time exploring the swamp in the days when children were allowed to roam free as long they were home by five; \u201d Listen for the five o\u2019clock whistle.\u201d, mother would say.
\nI love the shaded light, the vines, the foliage, the reflections in water and the old fallen trees. There is just a peaceful beauty about the place. I have painted the swamp in every season, in both watercolor and acrylic and in close up and panoramic views. I don\u2019t think I\u2019ll ever tire of the subject.
