There\u2019s a transitory golden light that remains visible as the sun vanishes into the horizon, as the sky darkens, and shades of blue cast on freshly fallen snow. To replicate a feeling embedded in memory, I photograph winter scenes to capture the light that stays within me as I attempt to illustrate a mood from long ago.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Sometimes,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>I alter my images by using a combination of imaging applications on my cell phone as well as my computer. My iPhone has become the most important tool for my art, where I utilize several different apps to take my work to another level of creative expression. The phone becomes both camera and darkroom as I construct various layers until<br \/>\nI achieve my desired effect.<\/p>\n<p>I find a sense of irony when I discover innovative ways to make art that looks as if it may have been produced years before. I think about earlier photographic processes and how I can achieve a similar mood and feeling using digital technology. I not only capture a moment in time, but modify what I have photographed to create something new and perhaps evoke a passage of time. With software applications on my phone, iPad and computer, I can push the limits of traditional photographic images.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I recall the twilight time of New England winters.
